7 SOVEREIGN ACTS OF THE SAVIOUR

1. JESUS CAME (‘when Jesus was come’) – Jesus has come from eternity into time; from heaven to earth; from perfect light and holiness to a world of darkness and sin. He, who knew no sin, became sin, that we might be set free from sin!

2. JESUS PERSONALLY ENTERED (‘into Peter’s house’) – Jesus deals with us personally, as persons; unique, beset by sin; unlike any other. There is only one of YOU; Jesus deals with you AS YOU ARE, translates you at once, and then over time transforms you.

3. JESUS SAW  (‘he saw’) – Jesus is all-knowing and all-seeing. He didn’t merely see her exterior but saw her interior; He saw her past, her present and her future. He knew the symptom, the cause, and He was the cure. “…. They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick.” (Luke 5:31)

4. JESUS TOUCHED (‘he touched’) – no other cure will cure the sinner, other than the touch of Jesus.

5. JESUS TOOK (‘the fever left’) – sin is a fever which must be expelled; a fever is all-consuming; it dominates us. He took our sin so that we might take His righteousness upon us, like a robe; wrapped up in it.

6. JESUS RESTORED (‘she arose’) – a new principle animates us and enables us; every time we want to pray, read, attend church, it is of the Spirit, not flesh. If the Holy Spirit is not in us, it is highly unlikely we would desire to attend church. We might attend by habit or by tradition, but without the Holy Spirit, there is nothing exciting or attractive in the Word of God for us.

7. JESUS RULED (she ‘ministered’) – the Christian life means being saved to serve; for God’s glory, not your own – in love, not debt.
