Drawn to the cross

Thus Peter betrayed with the words he did miss,

while Judas betrayed with a word and a kiss,

thus Peter went through his own personal hell,

while Judas knew nothing would ever be well,

Thus Peter ran off like a youth to the sea,

while Judas in darkness could no longer see,

thus Peter was granted the gift of repentance,

while Judas saw no hope in serving his sentence,

Thus Peter abandoned himself, not the Lord,

while Judas thought, maybe, his death might afford,

thus Peter is us when we turn to the cross,

while Judas is us torn in profit and loss.
